PEORIA - If April showers bring May flowers, then late-March snows must bring soccer pros.
At least they did this year, anyways.
For the second time in four years, Peoria-area soccer fans will get a chance to see the professionals in action when a pair of Major League Soccer teams square off at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday in a Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup qualifier at Shea Stadium.
Though gametime temperatures for the match between the Chicago Fire and Colorado Rapids are expected to be in the low 40s, the action on the pitch should be enough to keep those in attendance warm.
Or at least keep them entertained enough to forget about the weather.
