Riding the success of the U16 Academy’s national championship win in July, the Chicago Fire Soccer Club was nominated Tuesday in four categories for the 2010 Best of U.S. Soccer Awards.

The highest accolades: The U16’s dramatic shootout victory on July 16 in the US Soccer Development Academy national championship is nominated for Best Team Performance while Luis Medina's goal in the match is up for Best Goal.

Other honors: Great Lakes Dynasty”, the U.S. Soccer story highlighting the U16’s championship win is nominated for Best Academy Story while the photo of Victor Pineda’s bicycle kick in the match, titled “Academic” is up for Best Photo.
