BRIDGEVIEW, Ill. – C.J. Brown might be retired, but he can’t get away from the Fire.
The club original showed up at training on Wednesday morning – barely 12 hours after he was honored by the organization at a party in downtown Chicago on Tuesday night.
The Northern California native said on Oct. 21 that he would like to coach in MLS in 2011.
He also told MLSsoccer.com that interest in him around the league has been “pretty mellow so far” and that the Fire – who released assistant coaches Mike Matkovich and Alvaro Briones on Oct. 28 – have yet to reach out to him.
Brown, who is currently keeping busy by coaching multiple teams in the Fire Juniors program, said he expects his coaching prospects to improve after MLS teams wrap up their postseason training later this month.
