The Chicago Fire Soccer Club announced today that the club, in conjunction with United Neighborhood Organization (UNO), will “Storm the School” with surprise visits by Fire players to seven different UNO charter schools throughout the Chicagoland area today, Thursday, Sept. 23, 2010 at 1 PM CT. The players will be joined by UNO directors on site and will make classroom visits, speak with students, and pose for pictures.
As part of the club’s commitment to the community and its efforts in promoting school enrollment and education, the Fire will provide giveaways and raffle tickets for the Saturday, Oct. 8 game against Columbus Crew at TOYOTA PARK at 8:00 PM CT (Comcast SportsNet).
As part of the UNO Storm the School main event, Fire players Nery Castillo and Gonzalo Segares will visit PFC Omar E. Torres Campus (4248 W. 47th St., Chicago, IL 60632).
