Fire 3 - 4 Dynamo

Houston's Brian Ching heads home his third goal of the match

HOUSTON — Brian Ching got his first hat trick since 2006, scoring the winning goal in the 85th minute, to give the Houston Dynamo a 4-3 victory over the Fire on Saturday night at Robertson Stadium.

Chings late header came only four minutes after Chicago had tied the score on defender Wilman Condes goal. It was the Dynamos first victory since May 22.

Ching also scored on a bicycle kick and off a fumble by Fire goalkeeper Sean Johnson.
The Dynamo scored first when Richard Mulrooney sent a corner kick toward Ching near the six-yard box. Johnson, who had been splendid over the first 30 minutes, nicked Ching on his way to get the ball. After Johnson caught the ball, he deflected a bit off Ching and fell when he was undercut by Fire defender C.J. Brown.

Johnson had secured the ball safely until he landed on his back and fumbled it at Chings feet. Ching capitalized by ripping the ball into the back of the net to give the Dynamo a 1-0 lead in the 31st minute.
