Goalscorers Dimitrios Salpingidis and Vasilis Torosidis will never have to buy a drink again in Greece, as their two strikes led Greece to the country's first ever World Cup victory, a 2-1 win over Nigeria Thursday. 

Trailing 1-0 after surrendering a free kick goal to Nigeria's Kalu Uche in the 16th minute, the Greeks were bolstered when Nigerian midfielder Sani Kaita was sent off for foolishly kicking out at Torosidis in the 33rd minute. The 2004 European Champions responded four minutes later with the subbing in of Celtic striker Giorgios Samaras for defender Sokratis Papastathopoulos and the tide began to turn in the Greeks favor.
