Milan to hold open training

The Chicago Fire Soccer Club, the Chicago Red Stars and A.C. Milan announced today that A.C. Milan will open their training to the general public at TOYOTA PARK on May 29 at 5:00 PM CT. The famed Italian club will train immediately before the Red Stars’ Women’s Professional Soccer League match with FC Gold Pride, which kicks off at 7:00 PM CT at TOYOTA PARK. The parking lots to TOYOTA PARK will open at 4:30 PM CT, and gates to the park open promptly at 5 PM.
The A.C. Milan training is open to fans who purchase a ticket to the Red Stars vs. FC Gold Pride match and for all Chicago Fire season ticket holders. The Chicago Fire will challenge A.C. Milan in an international friendly presented by Best Buy at TOYOTA PARK on Sunday, May 30 at 7:30 PM CT. Chicago Fire Full Season and Ten Game Plan ticket Holders have until Thursday, May 27th at Noon to respond to Fan Relations (fanrelations@chicago-fire.com) for complimentary tickets for this event. Tickets will be available at Season Ticket Will Call beginning at 4:00 PM CT.

A number of high-profile playersare scheduled to take the TOYOTA PARK pitch on May 29, including play-making midfielder Ronaldinho. The gifted Brazilian and former FIFA World Player of the Year (2004, 2005), will train before four-time FIFA Women’s Player of the Year Marta steps on the field representing FC Gold Pride. The Rossoneri will also feature Dutch midfielder Clarence Seedorf, Brazilian striker Alexandre Pato and current World Cup Champion Filippo Inzaghi.
The Chicago Fire will hold a “Pizza Friendly” at Chicago Wicker Park hot spot Piece on Tuesday, May 25 from 5-7 PM. A portion of proceeds sold from the Fire specific Il Fuoco pizza and Piece’s award winning Worryin’ Ale beer will be donated to the Chicago Fire Foundation. Chicago Fire Players Andrew Dykstra, Baggio Husidic, Peter Lowry, Patrick Nyarko and Calen Carr will be serving Piece pizza to fans in attendance.  The event is open to the general public.


The May 30international friendly presented by Best Buy marks the second time the Fire and A.C. Milan have met in Chicago. The two sides previously met in 2005 when the Rossoneri edged the Fire 3-1 in a tightly contested match at Soldier Field.
