Krol, New Fire Hero?

Krzysztof Krol might not have been able to participate in the on-field action in the Fire’s 1-1 draw with Chivas USA last Saturday night, but he still made his presence felt at Toyota Park.
Unable to play due to a one-match red card suspension, the Fire’s 23-year-old left back took to the stands Saturday night, climbing up Section 8’s famed “capo” stand to lead the Supporter’s Group in song for 15 minutes in the first half.

Krol, New Fire Hero? -

“I went to the stand, they saw me and they went crazy,” Krol said of his appearance – which prompted fans to repeatedly chant his name Saturday night. “I came down and they told me that I’m a legend because I’m the first player from the Chicago Fire who did that.”
According to Krol, who is with the Fire on a one-year loan from Polish club Jagiellonia Bialystok, Saturday night wasn’t the first time he’s done something like this.
“In Poland I was doing the same thing,” Krol said. “When I went to the game and I was not playing I went to see my fans. [They’re] like another player in the field so I wanted to see [them].”
Asked if he enjoyed leading the crowd in song, Krol – who coordinated his surprising appearance with a Polish fan of the Fire – responded simply:
“Yeah,” he said with a laugh. “I’m a legend now.”
