Overview
Cuesta joined Chivas USA on loan from Expreso Rojo of the Colombian Second Division in August 2009, making his MLS debut on Aug. 29 against the LA Galaxy. Born on April 17, 1989, Cuesta made his professional debut in the Colombian First Division with Bogotá club Santa Fé in 2007, playing 24 matches for the club, notching two goals. In 2008, the 6’3” center back joined Expreso Rojo in the Colombian Second Division, where he has played since. Cuesta has also made several appearances for the Colombian Under-20 National Team, and scored the only goal in the team’s 1-0 victory over Peru in January.

MLS Experience

2009: Started in the Aug. 29 Honda Super Clásico against the LA Galaxy, playing 90 minutes in central defense just two days after joining the team in Los Angeles. Cuesta played in nine games (nine starts) after joining Chivas USA, collecting one assist.

Favorite actor is Vin Diesel…the most interesting place Cuesta has ever been is Valencia, Spain because of the sea, the beach and the people. He went while playing with the Colombian U-20 National team for a soccer tournament…Likes basketball and would like to see Kobe Bryant play live.
