A former Inter Milan youth player, Tornaghi earned a contract with the Fire after impressing the technical staff in the preseason. Tornaghi started the first three games of the 2012 season in goal while Sean Johnson was away on international duty, posting a shutout while going 1-1-1. Tornaghi will challenge his fellow goalkeepers for more playing time in 2013.  

2012: In his first season with the Fire he made three starts compiling a record of 1-1-1… Made his Fire and MLS debut in 1-1 draw 3/17 in the season opener against the Montreal Impact, making five saves… Started in 1-0 victory 3/24 over the Columbus Crew, making two saves to preserve the shutout… Started in a 0-2 loss 4/1 to the Colorado Rapids, making seven saves… INTERNATIONAL EXHIBITIONS: Appeared in both of the Fire’s international exhibitions… Came on as a sub in the 46th minute for Jay Nolly in the Fire’s 0-1 loss 7/21 to Aston Villa… Started in the Fire’s 2-2 draw 9/9 against Santos Laguna, playing the full 90… LAMAR HUNT U.S. OPEN CUP:  Started in the Fire’s 2-3 loss 5/29 to the Michigan Bucks, playing the full 90… MLS RESERVE LEAGUE: Started three matches for the Reserve team, logging 225 minutes…

Abroad: Loaned back out to Como where he appeared in one league match, a 2-1 loss to Ravenna on 8/22/10 and two Coppa Italia matches, a 3-1 victory over Guidonia Montecelio and a 2-1 loss on 8/14/10 to Varese… Loaned out to Serie C side Rimini on a co-ownership basis.. Appeared in three matches, earning a clean sheet in a 0-0 draw 12/20/09 vs. Pescara and falling in a 3-1 loss to 1/10/10 to Reggiana… Loaned out to Serie C side Como where he appeared in five matches…

Youth: Began his youth career with storied Italian side Inter Milan during the 2004-05 season

International: Has played for Italy from the U16-U20 levels and was part of the side that played at the 2005 FIFA U-17 World Championships in Peru.
