How Acquired:    Selected 28th overall (2nd round) in 2012 SuperDraft

Selected 28th overall by the Fire in the 2012 MLS SuperDraft, Hunter Jumper provides depth on the left side of defense behind veteran Fire standout Gonzalo Segares. Also able to play in the middle, the third year defender brings championship experience to the Fire, having won the 2009 NCAA College Cup with the University of Virginia.

2013: Started two matches for the Fire. Earned his first professional start on April 7 against the New York Red Bulls in a 3-1 victory, assisted on Daniel Paladini’s 44th minute goal. In his second start against Sporting Kansas City on Aug. 23, scored the game-winner with a diving header in the 13th minute and helped the defense earn the shutout in the 1-0 victory. INTERNATIONAL FRIENDLY: Played the full 90 minutes in a 3-2 loss to Club America on July 10.
