2015 (CHICAGO FIRE): Shipp had three goals and eight assists in 33 appearances, 29 of which were starts. His goals came at SJ on 3/22, vs. MTL on 5/30 and vs. NE on 10/3. Shipp recorded a game-tying assist in a 3-2 comeback victory vs. TOR on 4/4. His eight assists were a career-high. U.S. Open Cup: Shipp started each of the club’s four games in the tournament.
2014 (CHICAGO FIRE): Was one of only three players to appear in a team-leading 33 matches. Led the team with six assists and was tied for second on the team with seven goals. Made his professional debut on March 16, starting the road match against the Portland Timbers, becoming the first Homegrown Player in Fire history to appear in a MLS match. Notched assists in the next two matches, assisting on Jeff Larentowicz’s sixth minute goal against the New York Red Bulls on March 23 and Jhon Kennedy Hurtado’s goal in the 27th minute against D.C. United. Assisted Quincy Amarikwa’s goal in the 16th minute against the New England Revolution on April 19. Became the first Homegrown Player in Fire history to score when he tallied in the 4th minute against the New York Red Bulls on May 10, scoring a hat trick and adding an assist, leading the Fire to their first win of the season. Marked just the sixth rookie hat trick in MLS history. Scored a brace in a 3-2 loss to the Seattle Sounders on June 7. Scored the equalizer in the 56th minute against Toronto FC on July 2. Assisted Jeff Larentowicz’s 60th minute goal against the Philadelphia Union on July 19. Assisted on Amarikwa’s 16th minute goal against D.C. United on Sept. 20. Scored against D.C. United on Oct. 18. U.S. Open Cup: Appeared in all four matches as the Fire reached the semifinals. Assisted on the first and third goals of the 4-2 overtime win over the Columbus Crew in the fifth round on June 25. Appeared in the inaugural Chipotle Homegrown Game on Aug. 4, captaining the MLS side for the second half. Was named a finalist for the 2014 MLS Rookie of the Year award.
COLLEGE (NOTRE DAME): Captained the Fighting Irish to their first ever NCAA College Cup, tallying the game-winning assist in a 2-1 win over the University of Maryland at PPL Park on Dec. 15. The Lake Forest, Ill., native finished his senior season with 12 goals and 10 assists in 24 matches, earning 2013 ACC Offensive Player of the Year and All-ACC First Team honors. In his four-year collegiate career, Shipp scored 23 goals and tallied 24 assists in 83 matches. A finance major and five-time Dean's List honoree, Shipp was named the 2013 Capital One Academic All-American of the Year for Division I Men's Soccer.
