Brendan King

A local product, Brendan King joined the Fire after spending the 2012 season gaining valuable experience abroad. Selected in the second round (27th overall) of the 2012 MLS SuperDraft by the Portland Timbers, King instead headed to Europe where he spent his first season as a professional. A Fire PDL and Super-20 product, King is a versatile midfielder who will strengthen the squad heading in to the 2013 season.

2012: Selected in the second round (27th overall) of the 2012 MLS SuperDraft by the Portland Timbers but elected to go abroad and joined League of Ireland Premier Division side Bray Wanderers AFC where he made one appearances…Transferred to Norwegian Division One side Alta IF where he appeared in seven matches.

College:  Was a four-year standout at Notre Dame…Scored six goals and added 14 assists in 81 career games…2011: Appeared in 18 matches…Scored one goal and tallied two assists…2010: Started all 20 matches…Posted career-high totals in goals (3), assists (6) and points (12)…Tied for first among all Irish players in assists and his point total was tied for second on the team… A BIG EAST Academic All-Star…Registered a career-high three assists in a 3-0 win over Georgetown…2009: Played in 22 matches and made nine starts…Registered three points on three assists…A BIG EAST Academic All-Star…2008:Named to College Soccer News `100 freshmen to keep an eye on' list prior to the season,..Played in all 21 matches and notched seven points on two goals and three assists…Scored the game winner in the 61st minute in a 1-0 triumph at West Virginia to lock up the BIG EAST Blue Division championship…A BIG EAST Academic All-Star.
