Pause Wins MLS Award

Midfielder grabs Goal of the Week

Chicago Fire midfielder Logan Pause earned
his first career MLS Goal of the Week award after scoring the lone goal in the
Fire’s 4-1 defeat to Toronto FC at BMO Field this past weekend.  

With 31 percent of the votes, Pause edged
San Jose Earthquakes forward Chris Wondolowski and Houston Dynamo midfielder
Brad Davis to give the Fire its second MLS Goal of the Week Award this season
and its fifth MLS Goal of the Week nomination to date.

the Fire trailing 2-0 in the 50th minute, Fire defender Krzysztof Krol laid the
ball off to Pause who smashed a driven ball into the top right corner of the
net past Toronto FC goalkeeper Stefan Frei. It was Pause’s second career goal
and first since he opened his MLS account against the New England Revolution on
April 7, 2007.

Fire will wrap their two-game road swing with a trip to Kansas City to take on
the Wizards on Saturday, May 15 (7:30 PM CT, FSC/FSE). The club returns to
TOYOTA PARK for a four-game home stand, beginning with a match against Paris
Saint-Germain in the first match of the Chicago Sister Cities International Cup
on Wednesday, May 19 at 7:00 PM CT, and will play against either Legia Warsaw
or Red Star Belgrade in the final round of the Sister Cities International Cup
on Saturday, May 22. Brimstone Cup rivals FC Dallas come to Chicago on
Thursday, March 27 (7:00 PM CT, ESPN2) just three days before the Fire host AC
