Hauptman taking honorable soccer stand

John Kass sits down with Fire owner Andrew Hauptman

With Chicago Fire team owner Andrew Hauptman in town for the Fire's weekend home opener at Toyota Park, I decided it was time.

Time to sit down with Hauptman and talk about the beautiful game.

"You're in the family now," said Hauptman at breakfast on Friday. "You're a season ticket-holder. Welcome."

The beautiful game has got me by the throat. I'm weak for it. We are the Fire. We are the Fire.

With the Fire's season just beginning, and the riveting European Club championship tournament currently under way, and then the U.S. men's national team playing in the World Cup this summer, I'm all in for soccer.
